hmc login client: a 16-bit MS-DOS based client that used IPX (via INT calls to LSL.COM/IPXODI.COM) instead of TCP/IP. This special MS-DOS based client was actually installed in place of the standard HMC Academic Computing network Login Prompt screen for many months, allowing the cycles of unused workstations to be utilized while they were waiting for someone to login.
